Take a step back in time. Visit the authentically restored and furnished 1750 home of the Stuart family and learn about the life of one of America’s best-known portraitists, Gilbert Stuart.

Gilbert Stuart is widely considered to be one of America’s foremost portraitists. The unfinished portrait of George Washington was begun in 1796 and never finished; Stuart retained the portrait and used it to paint over 75 copies which he sold for $100 each.
